Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet
Every Sunday at the end of the day the family and I enjoy a cookie skillet and talk about the greatness that is God and His son Jesus Christ. It is the perfect end to the week!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ sticks butter room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips or I will chop up 2 milk chocolate bars
- Flaky sea salt optional
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 F.
- With softened butter grease your 10’’ or 12’’ cast iron skillet.
- Add softened butter, sugar and brown sugar to your standing mixer bowl and beat on medium for 2 minutes.
- Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla and mix until combined.
- Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt, on low and until just combined. Then gently stir in the chocolate chips.
- Press the cookie dough into the skillet.
- Bake for 25-35 minutes. It will look barley golden. - Don’t over-bake it, especially since it will continue to cook in the hot skillet when you take it out of the oven.

- Allow to cool in the skillet for at least 20 minutes before cutting. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if you wish, it is so good, trust me!
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or alone!
